2016 US Olympian Colton Brown Joins Team FORCE/Pedro's Judo

2016 US Olympian Colton Brown completed his journey from California to Wakefield this week where he will live and train throughout the next Olympic cycle. Colton competed in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio alongside medallists Kayla Harrison and Travis Stevens. Pedro’s Judo Center owner and Head Coach has been working with Colton on the international circuit since 2012.

“I am delighted that Colton has finally decided to make the commitment to come join our team and train at USA National Team Force @ Pedro’s Judo Center. Although he is already an Olympian, he has so many more areas to improve upon which I believe can transform him into a world class competitor. I am very excited to be working with Colton to help him accomplish his dream of winning an Olympic medal in Tokyo,” said Jimmy Pedro.

“When I came to Boston last year to train before the Olympics I realized that in order for me to reach my full potential (…) I would have to move here full time,” said Brown.

“Right now there are a lot of holes in my game, and being able to work with Jimmy [Pedro], Big Jim [Pedro Sr] and Travis [Stevens] on a daily basis will clean my Judo up and take me to the next level. Finally, just being around a group of athletes with the same mindset and goals as me is extremely important and will help get me through the tougher days.”

“I don’t just want to make an Olympic team this time around, I want a medal. I know my best chance of doing that is here at Pedro’s Judo,” Brown concluded.
